SMCS SUPPORT GROUPS

Breast Cancer Support Group

Meets monthly. Call to confirm date and time. All are invited to attend. Contact Nancy Thibodeau, RN, BSN, Breast Care Coordinator, Springfield Hospital at 802-885-7584.

Breastfeeding Support Group

Complementing our inpatient breastfeeding support services, we offer a free monthly support group for new mothers. This group provides a place to come with questions and concerns and meet other mothers and babies. The group meets the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month, noon – 2 pm at Springfield Hospital. Pulmonary Puffers Support Group

This support group, facilitated by Mary Anne Riley, RRT, TTS, meets regularly at Springfield Hospital. For info, call 802-885-7421.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT GROUPS

Caregivers’ Support Group

This group meets the third Wednesday of every month, at Springfield Hospital Level D Conference Room, 5:00 – 6:30 pm. Presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, Vermont Chapter. Please call 800-272-3900 or visit www.alz.org/Vermont.

Mental Health Peer Support Group

Hosted by VT Psychiatric Survivors, this group meets at the First Congregational Church, 77 Main Street, Springfield, VT, every Thursday, from 2 – 3:30 pm. The group’s goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for people to give and receive support around mental health issues. The group is free and open to the public. NAMI Connection – Springfield, VT

This free weekly support group is a peer recovery support group for adults living with mental health challenges. The Springfield group meets at HCRS, 390 River Street, Springfield, VT, every Monday 1:30 – 3:00 pm. For more information: 802-639-6480.

Overeaters Anonymous – Bellows Falls, VT

Move 2 Improve (M2I) 
Location: Whitcomb Building, 1 Mineral St., Springfield, VT
Days: Tuesdays and Fridays      Time: 11 am – 12 pm
M2I is a free, drop-in, low-impact group exercise program for those just starting out or just getting back into physical activity. Each class includes stretching, muscle strengthening, low impact cardio and final relaxation.

Tobacco Cessation Classes
Do you want to quit tobacco but nothing works? Join a FREE Fresh Start Tobacco Cessation class! Come talk about smoking, quitting, staying quit, and all the challenges in between, in a non-judgmental, friendly environment. Talk about Nicotine Replacement Treatment and what might be the best fit for you. Receive FREE Nicotine patches, gum and lozenges with attendance of each 1 hour session.
